Terms of service

Snip is an app for trimming audio on your phone and setting it as a ringtone. You own what you make with it, and you’re responsible for having the right to use the audio you edit.

01Agreement

These terms cover your use of the Snip: Ringtone & Audio Trimmer app (“Snip”). By installing or using Snip you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.

02Your licence to use Snip

Snip is proprietary software. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use it on devices you own or control.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, decompile or reverse engineer Snip, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms, or where the licence of an included open-source component gives you that right for that component. Those components and their licences are listed on the open-source licences page.

03Your audio and copyright

• You keep all rights in the audio you import, record, edit and export with Snip.
• You’re responsible for having the rights you need to copy, edit or use any recording or piece of music you process with Snip, including as a ringtone.
• Don’t use Snip to infringe anyone’s intellectual property.

04Your files stay on your device

Snip has no cloud storage or backup. Your clips, recordings and clip library exist only on your phone. The developer isn’t responsible for losing them through device damage, a factory reset, uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or another app deleting files.

05System sounds and contacts

Snip changes your ringtone, alarm, notification sound or a contact’s ringtone only when you ask it to, and only after you’ve granted the permission Android requires for that. You can change them back at any time in Android’s settings.

06No warranty

Snip is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

07Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, use, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Snip.

08Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version is always on this page, with its date. Continuing to use Snip after a change means you accept the updated terms.

09Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer lives, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in them limits rights you have under the consumer law of your own country.
